Dissertation done ☑️ Will share out findings over the next few months but it’s been a pleasure looking at this over the last year. Why do smart people sometimes stay silent? And what really drives learning and innovation? #PsychologicalSafety #Masters @thecsp

Campaign as ONE is about standing together on the issues that matter most — like NHS staffing levels. Understaffing is affecting patient care, workloads and wellbeing. This Frontline article explains what’s happening, the action being taken nationally, and how members can challenge unsafe staffing locally. Rehab helps people to return to work and stay in work. We can't afford to wait. 388,076 people are waiting for MSK services in England, yet there are widespread recruitment freezes. We must build the physiotherapy workforce we need to keep Britain working. #RightToRehab
Good Morning Britain@GMB

The UK is "sliding into an avoidable crisis" according to a major review into workplace sickness out this morning. The Keep Britain Working Review found that since 2019, 800,000 more people have left the workforce due to ill health, and the review warns that without action, it could get worse. Former John Lewis boss Sir Charlie Mayfield, who led the report, talks to @susannareid100 and @edballs about his findings.

Keep Britain Working - our response 'This is a huge opportunity for employers and healthcare systems to recognise the power of rehabilitation in helping people stay healthy, remain in work and contribute to a stronger economy. 'A significant part of that success depends on employers playing their part — by harnessing the full expertise, experience and capacity of the independent physiotherapy sector, alongside NHS services, to create healthier, more supportive workplaces. 'But for those who rely on the NHS, access to physiotherapy must also improve. We urgently need more physiotherapy resource to tackle the growing waiting lists for musculoskeletal conditions - among the biggest causes of worklessness. In England alone, latest figures show 388,076 people waiting for MSK services. 'The UK population and economy cannot wait three to seven years for change. We have to invest in and grow the physiotherapy workforce now. There are more qualified physios than ever before - but recruitment freezes and financial pressures mean fewer opportunities for new graduates who are ready and willing to help. @ashjamesphysio, director of practice and development at the CSP

Good morning @ashjamesphysio . Instead of giving us clarity, your thread opened up a can of worms . Please could you address some of the points raised by patients, Doctors and other healthcare professionals in response to your thread ? Thanks
Ash James 💭@ashjamesphysio

There’s some confusion online about advanced practice & physio scope of practice, so here’s a 🧵 for clarity. Physios working in advanced roles aren’t pretending to be doctors they’re highly trained clinicians working at the top of their profession, improving care & outcomes 1/7

@medicalmodelbri @thecsp Morning. I have posted a thread for clarity, so hopefully that helps. Back & forth on x is rarely productive. If you want to chat more about it I am more than happy to have a call/teams/catch up in person if that would be helpful to discuss more. Have a great weekend

Advanced practice is outside of a physios scope of practice . @thecsp knows this , @ashjamesphysio knows this . Employers will write job descriptions to use physios however they want . They’ll do anything to avoid employing REAL Drs so make up jobs for AHPs to pretend to be Drs

7/7 So, no, physiotherapists aren’t “pretending to be doctors”. They’re part of the modern multidisciplinary solution to NHS pressure, patient need, and service innovation. That’s something we should all be proud of

6/7 Healthcare is changing. The old silos between professions are giving way to integrated, collaborative models where expertise is recognised, not restricted. Physiotherapists have earned their place as autonomous, evidence-driven clinicians at every level of care.
