There’s a 19-hour time difference between the West Coast (Rams, 49ers) and Melbourne, Australia. One idea that has been floated is the Australia game being played in Week 1, potentially even before the Thursday night kickoff game. That would give the teams a bigger gap before returning to the States for Week 2. All of that, however, is still to be determined.

@Seanjkernan Pisses me off as well. I have started joining in the conversation when it happens. I figure it's on loudspeaker; they want everyone to participate. Usually works, and they take it off loudspeaker or move far away from me.

Talking on a speaker phone in a public transit, such as a bus, train, airport, or waiting room—makes my blood pressure go up. You can include people who play music loudly on speakerphone in this category as well. Even if I like the song, it just feels obnoxious. People just assume there are no other people in this universe, and when they do these speakerphone conversations, they alllllways seem like they are shouting into the microphone. Please be mindful of other people when you are in a shared space. It’s not too much to ask.

@JoeMDuncan @Seanjkernan Could be the case. My wife who has never written an article on Medium (or anywhere) has over 100 followers. Agree its probably a mix of Sean's Quora Fans (Seanies) and random people hoping for a follow back.

Just noticed something. I started writing on Medium in Oct of 2019. But I had a Medium account long before, which essentially sat there idle. I was writing on Quora already and building an audience. Interestingly, the act of writing on Quora was generating followers on an inactive Medium account. It shows the crossover effects of publishing on multiple platforms.
