I'm continuing to hear from constituents about the poor Royal Mail service in Skelmersdale. I have also now written directly to the Chief Executive, Mr Alistair Cochrane, to raise my serious concerns about the service.

Net migration down 82%. Net migration is now at 171,000, down from a high of 944,000 under the Conservatives. This Government is restoring order and control to our borders.

The Labour Party must do the hard work of winning back the trust of the people; to do that we must be united. As the ballot for PMBs takes place this morning I’m calling on Labour MPs not to divide us again. Only 6% of voters say this issue is a priority theguardian.com/society/2026/m…

I recently visited Queenscourt Hospice with @Bill_Esterson & @patrick_hurley to discuss the hospice's financial crisis. I know many people in West Lancashire use this hospice and it means a lot to individuals and their loved ones. queenscourt.org.uk

Did you hear? The Tobacco and Vapes Bill is now law! When I was Health Minister, I was honoured to lead the third reading of this Bill on behalf of the Government. It will protect children from smoking and vaping, and record funding will support millions of adults to quit.

I’m so pleased that the Children’s Wellbeing and Schools Bill has recently received royal assent, meaning it is now law. This is the single biggest piece of child protection legislation in a generation.

In April, wrote to LCC on the government's investment in SEND, urging them to prioritise West Lancashire. Here is the response, with no specific mention of West Lancs. I will continue fighting for SEND children in our constituency and call on LCC to prioritise West Lancs.
