I know it’s only a Pakenham maiden on a Thursday night, but money lost at Pakenham is the same as money lost on a Saturday. All those blowing up about Ole Dancer a fortnight ago should have a look at the ride on Federalist last night. I am sure the connections were “delighted with his run, going forward,” but little wonder the ROI for the Hawkes team in recent years is so woeful. You couldn’t possibly say that horse was “given every chance to achieve the best possible finishing position,” in that race.
