@Jeannedarc2024 @muaddibstyle Disagree about the latter as I think Denis does some great spiritual stuff with Paul's prescience but yeah, the way the book describes her awareness isolating the Water in her system and directly changing its chemical composition to transmutate the poison is inconceivably insane.

@muaddibstyle The depiction in the books of Jessica becoming the reverend mother is far trippier and more spiritual than any scene in Villeneuve’s movies

Hot take: Villeneuve’s depictions of Paul’s visions and of Alia are trippier than anything on the page in Herbert’s writing. There’s drugs in the book, but most of what’s on the page is pretty concrete and practical.
