@BobSpagina @blendearts @g_lantressor @yowaimomo_ even in the case of skeletal structure, there's a lot of variation and incorrect or androgynous skeletal identifications due to bias. When looking at skulls theres a 22% overlap and with sacral measurements, theres a 17% overlap. those arent insignificant numbers at all.

First look at ‘INSECTARIUM’, a new stop-motion film from Mexican director Sofia Carrillo. The film follows a world where insects have gone extinct, until a girl revives a moth.

@dreamertabby @wheelrrwise yeah its pretty neat that they mean the exact opposite and have nooo relation in origin! I def see where the confusion could come from but yeah its heavily tied to black + queer culture here so it's definitely important to me to correct any misunderstandings!! :)

@agnostheic yeah I see where the confusion is from. it is a bit annoying since its tied to our queer culture and looking on urban dictionary would clear up the confusion. the words are homonyms & arent related at all in origin which is pretty neat for meaning exact opposite things :)

@hexles @I_ate_uranium @anarchoboognish thats true. about 30-50% of people with CO have cognitive impairment. but definitely not the case for this person, at least not to a high degree if any at all. he actually attends/attended my college, I havent kept up with him but he may have graduated by now.

@bambicina @wheelrrwise yeah np! honestly I get the confusion its pretty funny that they ended up meaning the exact opposite thing, most homonyms arent direct opposites like that. but because it's tied to a minority community I think it's important to clarify, so thank you for being open to learning!!

@bambicina @wheelrrwise I mean it does mean face card but it's not a tiktok term and it wasnt taken from the british slang. it originated in drag culture completely on its own and has huge ties to the queer community.

just fyi in america it literally means exactly what that person said and was NOT taken from the british. it was developed in drag settings completely independently from its british homonym.

this tweet is so funny to me bc what do you mean why are phrases being used differently as time goes on. language is constantly adapting and evolving. imagine there were purists for the word slay who got pissed bc “it means you kill something” not that you look good
