PTM social media team is running a campaign to highlight the ongoing military operations in Tirah. The state has conducted 21 mega military operations and over 14,000 intelligence based operations in Pakhtunkhwa. These operations have resulted in the killing and wounding of civilians and the large-scale displacement of Pashtuns, yet have failed to bring lasting peace. The continuation of military operations in Tirah reflects the same policy of collective punishment and constitutes a grave violation of the basic human and constitutional rights of the Pashtun people. We call upon all conscious voices to join us in demanding an immediate end to the military operations in Tirah, protection of civilians, accountability and a peaceful, just resolution. Class divide in USA and NYC Mayorial elections : =================== Since Zohran won the democratic primary against 3 time democratic governor Cuomo, the multi-million dollar rich million dollar property owning / dealing and hedge fund capitalist class residing in Newyork city got desperate for him to fail and irrespective of party, they bipartisanly donated 25 million dollars to the now independent running Cuomo, who came second. Major Democratic Party leaders didn’t endorse Mamdani’s race, and many from the party criticized him as being communist. That is why a famous political commentator said decades ago, “ The American ruling class has two factions , the first is Republican and other Democratic Party “. While the increasingly impoverished working class and diminishing middle class majority of Newyork voted for Mandani due to his campaign program of freezing rent, making bus transport free, ensuring universal free child care, reforming police and establishing city run provisional stores with economical products. Cost of living in NewYork and other big cities of America has increased quite significantly in last 20 years, while Real average wages ( inflation adjusted) for bottom 50% have not increased commensurately. On the other hand average productivity of labor ( the per hour produce that labor gives to capitalists ) in same 2 decades in America has risen more than two fold. ( due to more automation, better training of manpower, more intensive work) This proves that from the increased GDP, much increased portion went to US capitalists ( top 20-30 %) than to labor. Hence the very basic issues of Roti, Kapra and makan worked in the epicenter of world free market capitalism also. To conclude, class divide was a major factor in these elections. Zohran Mamadani proved to be an astute activist, he wisely chose 3-4 common man’s issues as his campaign main points which resonated with a wide cross section of new Yorkers , also he adroitly bypassed the landmines that US capitalist elite and Elite owned media houses laid out to trap him and spoil his image. Indeed all this is a very difficult task in a comparatively less class conscious America where capitalist ruling ideas of free market fundamentalism as the magic wand for all problems dominate a wide section of middle and lower middle class. Only exceptionally gifted and hard working people like Zohran can traverse such difficult US political terrain for any real reform. But his hard work will act as encouragement for other activists to embolden and run the fight for offices in other positions in America.
