With some of my parliamentary colleagues today announcing the partnership of our Tonsley Technical College with the Australian Science and Maths School. This will provide a key pathway to employment for students to complete their SACE while developing vital workplace skills.

The annual ASMS Activities Day was back and better than ever before for 2022! With track & field events, pétanque, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, soccer, tug of war and an egg and spoon race – it was an epic day filled with sportsmanship & camaraderie!

Today we celebrate #HarmonyWeek and reflect on the importance of cultural diversity here at the ASMS and across Australia. Today our students & staff showed their support for the theme this year which is 'Everyone Belongs' by wearing orange or traditional dress for the occasion.

The students of the ASMS have been diving into how science & tech will impact humanity and vocations in Dream Design Develop. Covering AR and robotics in medicine, and the future of food sources, this was the perfect medium for our students learn hands-on in the lab!

The ASMS recently competed in a senior 3x3 basketball day carnival against some other schools from the Southern & surrounding zones. Our 3 teams finished 1st, 3rd, & 4th, which is a remarkable result for our school. A huge congratulations to all involved on a great day!

International Women’s Day is a chance to celebrate the achievements of women and #BreakTheBias of gender stereotypes & discrimination. Led by the young women of the ASMS, today our students reflected on women's achievements & came together in solidarity of a gender equal future.

Our Aviation Studies Stage 2 students are off to a flying start, by beginning flight training at Parafield Airport. It was a wonderful experience for our students to put their skills to the test & to get one step closer to getting their CASA recreational pilot licence! ✈️

Our 'Dream Design Develop' students are Talkin’ Tech this week by starting their Practical Exploration Challenges! They've been exploring 3D printing, laser cutting, programming, robotics, AI, VR, AR, technical drawing & music production to develop fluency in future technologies.

For their first prac of the year, our Year 12 Biology students were in the lab extracting DNA from fruit. Not only was this a fun way to kick off the term, but it was also a fantastic opportunity our Year 12s to demonstrate their learning! 🧪🍓🍌🥝🧬

Today we welcomed all our students back to the ASMS! It was exciting for our Yr 10s to connect with their cohort & teachers, to see the familiar (masked) faces of our year 11s, who joined our Yr 12s on campus. The atmosphere was fantastic & we can't wait for the rest of term 1!

Welcome to 2022! We are so excited to begin the school year with our ASMS community. It's fantastic to safely welcome our Yr 12 cohort on site & our Yr 10 & 11s through online learning. We look forward to exploring another year of extraordinary learning with you at the ASMS!

The @SATACinfo university offers are officially out! This is an exciting time for our graduates, and we want to congratulate them on their offers. We hope the next chapter of your tertiary education allows you to explore your passions & take on your next real-world challenge.

The end-of-year results are in, and we want to congratulate our ASMS students for their fantastic @saceboard results for 2021. The want to acknowledge the dedication this cohort have demonstrated over the course of their studies & wish them well on the next chapter!

This week our ASMS students and staff embarked on the trip of a lifetime to Heron Island in @Queensland. Our budding marine biologists were able to use the HIRS facilities to conduct research to help contribute to global data collection on the health of coral reefs!

Congratulations to our ASMS graduate Riley who was one of 10 students who received a Student Citizenship 2021 award by the Governor Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC. We wish Riley all the best on the next chapter & can't wait to see what the future holds!

We are proud to congratulate our Class of 2021 who received their certificates of ASMS Graduate Capabilities yesterday at the Capri Theatre. Thank you to the teachers for their support & the staff who organised this fantastic event. We send our best wishes to the Class of 2021!

At the 2021 #Frankenfest festival our ASMS students celebrated the culmination of their hard work over the term in ‘Engineering a Monster?’ Our Transition Day cohort visited booths combining literature, sustainability, ethics, engineering, chemistry, 3D printing, games & more!

From Monday, wearing face masks will be optional for all students and staff in schools, preschools and children's centres. It may be necessary to make masks mandatory in the future if conditions require. Thank you to all of our staff and students over the last couple of months.
