even japanese vocaloid producers have expressed their worries that, you used to be able to just upload a simple image with some timed text for the lyrics, but nowadays it feels necessary to release songs with unique, polished visual accompaniment. which isn’t always in budget.

I don't want to be That Artist but GenAI has really made it obvious that a LOT of non-artists hate & resent us bc they feel like they "can't" make art (when the truth is worse: they won't, bc it's hard).
I first started to suspect this was the case when I was ~11.
