What started as a Moon delivery service has become a full-fledged, vertically integrated space prime - a company capable of delivering comprehensive, end-to-end solutions across orbits and beyond. The future looks incredibly promising, and I couldn't be more proud and excited to witness Intuitive Machines' remarkable journey from a scrappy little startup to a diversified powerhouse helping shape the lunar (and broader) space landscape.

Being part of a team early in life plants seeds that grow into powerful advantages. Those childhood practices, games, wins, and tough losses teach lessons that textbooks can't match. It hammered home the essential soft skills to be a solid team member: communicate clearly, back your buddies up no matter what, own your mistakes, and always put the mission—the win—first. Those habits stuck with me like superglue. They didn't turn me into a hall-of-fame ballplayer (trust me, the scouts weren't knocking, I was awful), but they helped shaped me in ways I never saw coming.

NASA has awarded Intuitive Machines a $180.4 million dollar contract to deliver seven payloads to the Lunar #SouthPole region. 🌕 This marks our fifth CLPS task order and the first to require a larger cargo class Nova-D lunar lander. Among the payloads are a lunar rover from the @AusSpaceAgency and @blueorigin's Honeybee Robotics. We look forward to working with NASA to deliver mission success on IM-5. You do what needs to be done on the Space Station. One day you're fixing a toilet, and the next you're performing open-circuit surgery. No two days are the same in space and that's exactly why it's the coolest job in the universe!

Proud dad moment.  I’ve given a lot of speeches in my life, but never with the passion, polish and impact that my daughter @sariahfischer just gave @TEDxWake!  She understands the space domain at a strategic level that few will ever reach, and I can’t wait to see the enormous impact she’ll have as she joins the NASA team next week!

Taking photos from the International Space Station is worlds apart from snapping pics on Earth. You can't just grab a camera, step up to a window, and start shooting freely because the windows themselves are engineered marvels built for survival, not convenience. Up in orbit, they bridge two extreme worlds—full cabin pressure inside (~1 atm) versus near-vacuum outside. To withstand that massive pressure difference without cracking or failing, each Cupola window is stacked with four separate thick panels, creating a total depth of 5-6 inches (about 14 cm). This thick stack turns each window into a kind of 'tunnel,' so you need to darn near press your camera right up against the panel to get a usable shot and avoid glare, ghost reflections, and edge distortions. It's tough, precise work but the pay off is 📷

One of my least favorite things about living in space (besides the bathroom) was the sleeping bag situation. Since the sleeping bags are permanently on the Space Station they have this little removable liner, kind of like a bed sheet, that gets swapped out either every 30 days or whenever a new crew member takes over the sleeping bag. When you combine not changing your sheets too often, with 4 months of daily workouts and no showers, you get a stinky situation 🥴

Great job @MattAadastra! Excited about NASA’s future!
Sariah@sariahfischer

Honored to support @MattAadastra as the NASA Deputy Administrator nominee. Thank you to the 45 aerospace leaders who offered their support ahead of today’s Senate Commerce hearing. Excited for the leadership he will bring to NASA and the future of American space exploration 🚀

There is no such thing as a minor part of a lunar lander. Every single screw, wire, valve, fastener, bracket... is critical to mission success. Each one of the lander's thousands of pieces must be tough enough to handle the shock of launch, the extreme temperatures of space, and the harsh elements of the lunar environment, yet still be flexible enough to accommodate thermal expansion and contraction. It's a tall order! That's why we design, analyze, and test obsessively because every piece matters and space doesn't grade on a curve.

One of the most amazing challenges of living in space is - EVERYTHING FLOATS. It becomes second nature to wave away wires, cables, or random objects floating by. We even have habitat maintenance training dedicated to working with loose wires and cables - how to properly inspect them, keep them from getting tangled, and even how to use tape or bungee cords to create an organized cable highway. It's all part of the awesome weird and wonderful adventure of living in space.

I absolutely loved doing space interviews with kids - some of their questions will surprise you! One kid got a little tangled in his questions and I had to hold back a smile when I heard him say 'dang it' while his mike was still on. It happens, I have daily dang it moments myself.
