TIL the Sherman Oaks HOA ended a major 3rd place for teens on Ventura Blvd in the 90s - a night cafe which was a refuge for many.
The sheer # of things i’m uncovering these ppl have ruined in the 2nd biggest city in US so not a single new person exists near em is radicalizing.

You literally cannot hate this HOA enough. Nowadays they feign support of some housing to save face, but in the 1990s they outwardly celebrated vacancy/decay after annihilating a developer's multi year attempt to build a 3-story affordable senior mixed use 🏬 on Ventura:
