As part of National Science Day celebrations @IUCAAstro, we talked to school teachers about "Reason for Seasons". We discussed the tilt of the Earth's axis with respect to it's orbit around the Sun, and addressed a number of misconceptions. Moupiya Maji, @astrosumo @astro4edu

A perfect night to wrap the #PlanetNine search on Subaru. No telescope trouble this time and the weather cooperated. Given that we lost quite a few of our previous runs to weather, it was not at all guaranteed. Now begins the slog to process the data. @plutokiller @kbatygin

Night 2 on Subaru: Rinse and repeat is always easier said than done. Thanks to the Subaru telescope engineering team for fixing problems. We lost a few hours, but we are on sky now. The sky looks excellent today too. @plutokiller @kbatygin

Wonderful night at Maunakea, a total of 221 exposures in the best of conditions (~0.6 arc second seeing). Half a TB of data for the half night, downloading to @IUCAAstro server now. Will arrive at snail's pace! Rinse and repeat for two more nights! @plutokiller @kbatygin

We are back for the #PlanetNine search again with the Subaru telescope. This time we target the galactic plane, hope to avoid the pesky stars or the volcanic dust in the Hawaiian skies, and finish this game of hide and seek with #PlanetNine. @plutokiller @kbatygin

@agrawalmanindra @stellensatz @agrawalmanindra Aren't you calculating any uncertainties on your models given the myriad parameters that you have? Can you not propagate these uncertainties on the model predictions?

<Update on 7/5> @stellensatz Another record-breaking day. Also, no of tests was lower than day before. The blue curve is clearly taking a different trajectory now. Is this a phase-shift? Will have to wait for a few more days to know for sure. Sorry to bring not-so-good news.😐

@stellensatz @Ashutos61 @Sandeep_1966 @shekhar_mande Starting a new thread for India. I updated India curve last on 14th with suggested peak at ~190K. Past few days have breached this value massively. This led to a discussion amongst us (me, Prof Sagar, and Gen Kanitkar).

@suchi_kulkarni Thanks! Passing it on, but we still need to think more about conveying the threat to people in rural areas (not just TV talk). Posters about social distancing and practical suggestions for rural life in local languages would be great.

@PrinSciAdvGoI I grew up in a very rural area. With low literacy rates, people feel very confused about the coronavirus. And the guidelines sent to the local administrators are being misinterpreted. E.g., shops are open only couple of hours, causing crowding. 1/n
