@adeyanjudeji Interesting. The accused is breathing fire and ready for war, but his own lawyer is on his knees pleading for mercy and withdrawal of the case. Who exactly should be showing remorse here? The defiant accused or the lawyer singing lullabies about "pluralism and justice"?

ADEYANJU CONDEMNS REVOCATION OF SOWORE’S BAIL SAYS DECISION TOO HARSH, APPEALS TO PRESIDENT TINUBU, DG SSS TO WITHDREW CHARGE The decision to revoke Omoyele Sowore’s bail appears rather harsh in the circumstances. Having previously granted him bail on self-recognizance, the court ought to have given greater consideration to the fact that he was present in court on the previous adjourned date when the court did not sit, had written to seek an adjournment, and currently has no counsel on record formally representing him. Given that he has previously faced far more serious allegations, including treasonable felony related charges, without absconding, it is difficult to justify the conclusion that he would evade trial over the present charges. The courts must always be guided by the presumption of innocence, particularly where a defendant has not shown a pattern of disregard for the judicial process. Both the court and the prosecution should be careful not to create the impression that this is a deliberate attempt to prevent him from participating in the next general election. Furthermore, i call on President Bola Tinubu who was a fervent critic as an opposition leader and the Director-General of DSS to discontinue the charge against Omoyele Sowore in the interest of pluralism and justice.   DEJI ADEYANJU, ESQ.

@sowore @officialABAT Big shoutout to DG DSS Tosin Ajayi 👏 You’ve got Sowore almost crying in court “My lawyers have deserted me” and now rushing back to X with cartel conspiracies. When pressure hits, the #RevolutionNow guy has no choice but to seek media pity.😂

It may be difficult for some compatriots to hear, but a nation governed by a leader @officialABAT involved drug-trafficking stands little chance of getting its moral compass right. When those at the very top set the tone, the institutions responsible for upholding integrity are inevitably shaped in that image. That is why officials such as @OfficialDSSNG Director-General Tosin Ajayi owe their loyalty not to the Nigerian people, but to the interests of the cartel. They should all be reminded, as we have repeatedly reminded public officials intoxicated by naked power, that no abuse of power lasts forever. A day of reckoning is always near. #RevolutionNow

@sowore See your life, Sowore. Every time the court makes a decision you dislike, calling it ‘a plot’ is becoming a predictable script. Maybe try presenting arguments instead. But you will never get what you want by disrespecting the court and the entire government. At least be decorous.

It has been brought to my notice that the judge presiding over my case concerning Tinubu is a criminal has revoked my bail, despite my presence in court yesterday, when the judge was not in attendance; consequently, we requested a new date. The agenda for today was to consider my application seeking the judge's recusal, but instead, he opted to revoke my bail in a bid to assert forceful control over the trial. I will confront these developments with determination and resilience. This was all planned but it shall not prevail. The struggle continues!

@FirstDailyMedia A commendable display of inter-agency cooperation. The joint efforts of the Nigerian Army, DSS, NSCDC, and NIS show that coordinated security operations can effectively address challenges like illegal migration and strengthen national security. Well done!

Tinubu has a few months to fix the North Insecurity and poverty are spreading nationwide But the north is the worst hit Tinubu has a Northern problem But he is too focused on Yoruba hegemony to understand his predicament His rabid tribalism makes his incompetence feel like betrayal in the North Propaganda and alternative facts can't help him Incumbency rigging in certain circumstances can spark a revolt in the northern regions The level of banditry in the north makes him a political basket case If the current anguish and resentment stays beyond August Tinubu will find it difficult to buy sufficient votes in the North All the governors and senators can defect to his party And might help him to mop votes in a few places But the atmosphere in the region will be too thick with anti Tinubu sentiments that his men no matter how daring will face a groundswell of resistance That resistance will be problematic Because if it happens on election day And if Peter Obi is on the ballot of the ADC Even as a running mate and holds the southeast The opposition will be tempted to declare victory Even before INEC announces their result If Obi is on the ADC ballot, Tinubu stands no chance in the southeast If the opposition coalition fields a northerner as presidential candidate with Obi as vice, That ticket will deter massive rigging in the North But such a hopeful ticket will also instigate greater watchfulness in the southeast Deterrence to rigging is critical If the North and southeast show capacity to march rigging with spontaneous unrest The elections will be more credible The last thing Tinubu will want is an inconclusive election The North Central is ravaged . Plateau . Benue. Kogi . Kwara. Taraba . Niger . Tinubu hasnt provided them the minimum The only zone Tinubu will carry with ease is Southwest But will that include Lagos? If the opposition mobilizes heavily in Lagos to make their supporters feel protected , Lagos will be split The other zone where Tinubu might perform better than he did in 2023 will be Southsouth All the Southsouth governors have defected. But look out for Edo and Delta. Yet with alll the machineries of formal and informal coercion in the hands of one side, including resources for vote buying, the opposition with struggle . In this region , so much depends on politi al entrepreneurs and merchants of violence. The Obi factor's influence in this region will depend on where Obi is on the ticket of the coalition and how he sells the arrangement to the Obidients . If Tinubu doesnt fix his problem with the core north And the opposition picks a northerner with political muscle Tinubu will have his hands full I quite understand the sentiments of the Obidients They want Obi or nothing But surely they can see that the ground is not level There has been no attempt to reform elections The courts are worse The capture of the judiciary is almost complete At this stage , from a feasibility point of view , The opposition needs a candidate against whom Tinubu’s men would dread to rig in the North That's the catch Obi inspires hope . But the opposition needs more than that to protect their votes. He lacks the capacity protect his votes by all means. He is pacifist and his base is not perceived as flammable. In 2015, Jonathan succumbed because of Buhari Buhari embodied resistance in the north and the capacity to resist presidential wuruwuru with an uprising in the north Against Tinubu , winning won't be enough The coalition candidate must be inspiring but must also be perceived as dangerous. *Dr. Ugo Egbujo*

@sowore So now you want to start an outcry and seek social media sympathy? Court proceedings should not be reduced to media campaigns or public pressure. The judiciary must be allowed to examine the facts, evidence, and applicable laws and make its decision independently.

We are back in court this morning following the deadly attacks on peaceful June 12 protesters in Abuja. Today’s hearing is in the DSS case, where the Nigerian state is attempting to criminalize free speech and suppress the truth. The prosecution is driven by the claim that describing Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a criminal is itself a crime.

@DrakeOfficial06 The claim attached to this video is misleading. The footage does not show a new evacuation of communities in Sokoto; it is an old clip being reused to create a false impression. You don't just post anything you come across on Social Media. It is an offence under the CybercrimeAct

@SaharaReporters DSS has fulfilled its responsibility by issuing an intelligence warning. Security alerts are meant to prevent crime and save lives, not influence court proceedings. People are free to ignore the warning, but they cannot blame the DSS for failing to alert the public.

@trigottista @OfficialDSSNG If you don't know, you ask. Intelligence gathering and dissemination are key responsibilities of the DSS, and that duty has been discharged. The focus should now be on coordinated action by the NSCDC and community stakeholders to forestall any threat.
