Most AI demos fail quietly in production. Not because the model is bad. Because the edge cases are ignored: 🔢 numbers 📅 dates 🔤 abbreviations 🧩 weird formatting ⚡ latency spikes 🧪 long-tail user input For Voice AI agents, tail behavior matters more than average quality.

Every era had its creators. People who looked up, saw further, and turned imagination into something real. The ambition never changed. The tools did. Async is built for a new era of creation, where ideas move faster, workflows feel seamless, and making becomes fluid. This is not just another tool. It’s a new way to create. This was made by one of our creators. Not a studio, not a team. Just Async and an idea. #MadeWithAsync

THIS IS WILD! 🤯 A new benchmark just dropped and it turns out AI voice systems have been mispronouncing dates and other data Here's why it happens (and what to do about it)👇

Inline text normalization for Voice AI agents! Real-time TTS models still struggle with non-standard text. Numbers, dates, currencies, abbreviations - the structured text that shows up in every production voice agent. "$42.50" should sound like "forty-two dollars and fifty cents," not "dollar sign four two period five zero." "03/15/2024" should be "March fifteenth, twenty twenty-four," not "zero three fifteen twenty twenty-four." Async released an industry benchmark to measure how well streaming TTS models handle this. The test: 2,200+ non-standard words across 1,000+ sentences in true streaming conditions with no preprocessing and no text rewriting. Results across four commercial models: • Async Flash v1.0: 81.2% sentence-level accuracy, 88.6% unit-level accuracy • Inworld TTS-1: 49.8% sentence-level, 67.8% unit-level • ElevenLabs Flash v2.5: 40.3% sentence-level, 56.4% unit-level • ElevenLabs Multilingual v2: 37.9% sentence-level, 52.5% unit-level Sentence-level accuracy requires every word in a sentence to be normalized correctly. Unit-level accuracy scores each word independently. Why inline normalization: Traditional TTS pipelines preprocess text before synthesis. Async normalizes during synthesis, improving accuracy for structured text in real-world voice agent contexts. The benchmark includes audio samples where you can hear the normalization differences across models. I've shared the link in the replies!

The accuracy gap in production voice AI is wider than most people realize. Async’s benchmark on non-standard text shows 81.2% sentence-level accuracy and 88.6% unit-level accuracy, tested on 2,200+ non-standard words in true real-time streaming. No preprocessing. No text rewriting. Link down below

Ask a voice agent to say "Nov 3rd" or "$1,299" 🎙️ That's where most of them fall apart. Our real-time voice model Async Flash v1.0 topped every other streaming TTS provider we tested: 81.2% sentence accuracy, 88.6% unit accuracy 🏆

One of the biggest problems with real-time streaming is the need to normalize text. For example, if you want to say "Dr. Smith makes $350/hr", you need to normalize the text to something like "Doctor Smith makes three hundred fifty dollars per hour." We use normalization pipelines for that. They work, but they introduce a lot of problems: • Added latency on every single request • Another moving part to maintain and monitor • Brittle rules that break on edge cases • Harder to debug when something sounds wrong Async just published the first open benchmark measuring exactly this, and the differences across providers are significant. When you are streaming audio in real time, you don't have time for preprocessing. Instead, you want the model to handle the normalization in-line, instantly. This model performs in-line normalization during streaming, with no preprocessing and no text rewriting. Look at the attached benchmark results. You can see how much difference there is across providers.
