Regarding the recent announcement about removing the Android in-app marketplace to comply with Play Store guidelines, I’d like to offer a constructive suggestion to minimize the negative impact on user experience.
We’ve seen that STEPN GO successfully utilizes a marketplace integrated through the FSL ID web portal/app. This solution effectively bridges the gap between store compliance and user convenience.
Why not apply the same logic to the OG app?
Instead of simply removing the feature and forcing users to a completely separate browser experience, I suggest:
👉Unified FSL ID Integration: Implement a direct link or a 'web-view' within the OG app that points to the FSL ID marketplace (similar to the GO version).
👉Centralized Inventory: Use the FSL ID as the hub for both GO and OG assets, making it easier for Android users to manage their sneakers without feeling like they've lost a core feature.
Removing the marketplace without a seamless alternative like FSL ID integration will likely cause friction and a negative perception within the community. Let's use the infrastructure we already have to keep the OG experience smooth! 👟🔥"
