@pokerorg All NLH events at the 2026 WSOP besides the Monster Stack are down compared to 2025 not just the High Rollers.
The reason the 2026 Monster Stack gained more players was because 2025 you could only late reg til end of day 1. 2026 you could late reg until start of day 2.

Much like the pyramids that the ancient Egyptians once built. No one can figure out how @wsop @espn was able to stream two or three events at once. Somehow this amazing technological achievement was lost through the ages and after 2016 has never been attempted again.

This would never air today. Even though at this small little 1.5k event there were 4 name pros and two randos with a dream. I still don't think anyone sits at home randomly turns on poker and dreams of playing high rollers. If they did you'd have bigger fields by now.

@AllenKessler @WSOP @espn Now every stream lost cost 10k-20k to stream. Which is totally dumb. There is no reason for them to have a basic side rig. New on air talent can cut their chops commentating on the side rig. It’s the way they used to do things.

Here's a novel idea for the streaming.

If you have 2 interesting final tables going, for example a no limit event and a $10K stud championship final table that includes Grinder, Ausmus, me, Kihara, Brewer etc ...
Instead of flipping back and forth between both, just show both on TWO SEPARATE STREAMS.
That way you have 2 complete video productions to use later on, and the viewer can choose to watch exactly what they want.
This would also apply to the other day when there was a high roller no limit ft and a $600 PLO/nl ft that featured @RealKidPoker @WAFoxen Maurice etc.
Just do full coverage on both events on 2 separate YouTube streams. You are already filming both tables anyway.
Cutting back and forth between both just gets annoying to those who want to watch just one or the other.

If market forces drive what's being played then why is every NLH event almost across the board down despite adding more reentry and starting days. Yet mixed games are up?
The days of layman finding a stream is pretty much long gone. That magically new audience finding poker for the first time ain't happen. You've got your audience who is on season 7 of House MD and is getting bored of the formula.
Trust me they can understand PLO, split pot, draw. We also have announcing talent who do an amazing job calling it. There should be no reason in 2026 to say either or. Give us both.

I don't disagree, but market forces drive what is played. The layman finds a flip for $500k payday more entertaining than a intricate SRP early in tourney. Also, most people are familiar with NLH vs other games. It's a tough sell.

There’s something about watching the same high rollers getting it in with 99+ AK against eachother on repeat for the last 3 years that I just can’t watch the stream for more than a few minutes. Every now and again there will be an incredible hand that makes me fall in love with poker again, but they’re always clipped and easy to see standalone. Also no interest in high stakes cash whales randomly flipping for infinite. Because of huge over exposure to NLH streams it dilutes the excitement of main event streams since we have it available basically 365 days a year. Things I’d love to watch/tune in for - 10k mix championship fts with household legends - Random rags to riches FTs

If just streaming highrollers all the time and never giving a thought to anything else grew the game or got an audience PokerGo would have been in the black a long time ago.
As amazing as the high rollers probably are no one is aspiring to be one or watch it. Other wise numbers would be up. The argument of "oh new people won't understand mix" is just silly. Your core audience can/does/will understand. x.com/atarirobby/sta…

All of the above. When 3 stars are at $600 FT you switch to that and not wait around.
No other game/sport limits its viewing like poker. There is no way in '26 for it to be too expensive to stream its marquee series.
All games/sports that stream offer the chance to see games across the league, which chess pairing do you want to watch, golf which pairing/holes do you wish to watch, bowling which group/lane to follow.
Yah its nice to have the gameshow stage with the flying cameras. There should be a barebones rig for something else. The ESPN/WSOP 10 years ago had this.
