Fun fact: Atchison’s iconic brick streets were laid over 100 years ago by a deaf, double-amputee who became a champion bricklayer and featured in “Ripley’s Believe It or Not!” for laying 46,000 bricks on Atchison’s streets in less than 8 hours.
