for those curious on the email issue @aarondfrancis ran into during his big launch (cover in the podcast episode): 421 4.7.28 gmail has detected an unusual rate of mail originating from your spf domain [highperformancesqlite[.]com]. this deferral occurred because 1) the domain was brand new and 2) he was emailing 1000s of people on the waitlist for the first time. the gmail blackbox is extra sensitive to the second reason as it looks like unsolicited spam (cold emails) — they basically defer your emails to ensure that people don't complain. if people complain, they hard bounce your future attempts. if people don't complain within 12-24 hours, they deliver all the emails they were previously deferring if you attempt again. when @aarondfrancis mentioned this on social people quickly jumped to "switch to {{ competitor }}" — would have made no difference because this is a domain level deferral, not IP or infra related, which is also why his support emails (unrelated to @bento) were not delivering too. these deferrals have been happening more and more since the june 1st gmail updates. solutions: 1️⃣ if you are using a new domain (<12 mo old) you have to send slowly to earn the trust of inbox providers. @bento allows you to do this with batched sending. our recommendation is always to send as slowly as you can stomach for best results. 2️⃣ before a big launch warm up the list with a few emails and get a pulse on how many you are allowed to send in any given day. if you notice you are getting deferrals from big providers, back-off the rate of sending. 3️⃣ start sending different types of emails from different subdomains (transactional[.]domain[.]com) or, if you run multiple domains, centralize all your sending on one domain to build up that reputation. in @aarondfrancis's case, sending all his emails on his studio or personal domain is far better than all his course microsites. deliverability in 2024 is becoming a lot more nuanced so make sure you're working with providers that are transparent and don't gaslight you with what's going on as it makes solving issues much faster. De Datagraver is weer klaar met het tellen van de warme en koude dagen van 2023. Als je door je wimpers kijkt dan zie je dat komende week echt een heel koude week wordt in ons opgewarmde klimaat. Een mooie kans dus om te gaan Warmtepompstagelopen om te ervaren hoe goed je woning al geschikt is voor verwarmen op veel lagere aanvoertemperaturen. Maandag de aanvoer op 50 ℃ Dinsdag op 45 ℃ Woensdag op 40 ℃ Ik ben heel erg benieuwd naar jullie ervaringen!
