In pictures: Dy Nei, the 36-year-old who was killed yesterday when Thai soldiers fired into Cambodian territory in Banteay Meanchey province’s Prey Chan village, was cremated today. Government officials joined local residents, including several whose homes have been sealed off by Thai razor wire barricades, to mourn the loss of his life. AKP

“Urgent! Thai soldier steps on a landmine at Preah Vihear — 1 loses a foot, 2 others injured.” - Sondhi Limthongkul Official Facebook Page The agreement explicitly stipulates that all forces must remain in their designated positions, with no unauthorized movement or patrolling. You keep ordering your troops to move forward into Preah Vihear area, sovereign territory of Cambodia — you are blatantly violating the ceasefire agreement. If your troops remain stationary and refrain from advancing, the risk of encountering a minefield or landmine is effectively impossible. Employing such deceptive claims is not only unjustifiable, but also endangers the lives of your own soldiers for the sake of sustaining a false narrative. คุยทุกเรื่องกับสนธิ ❌ คุยทุกเรื่องกับคนไร้สติ ✅ #JusticeForCambodia #CambodiaNeedsPeace

From slingshots to all-out war: A wake-up call for leaders The Cambodia–Thailand border conflict appears to have shifted from artillery exchanges and airstrike to the use of slingshots loaded with ball bearings and marbles — a development that may appear humorous at first, but carries serious implications, said Senate president Hun Sen. He took to social media today, warning that what seems like a minor issue could easily spiral into renewed violence. “At first glance, this may seem like a trivial or even humorous matter. But upon deeper examination, it is a serious issue,” he wrote. “If we do not intervene, it will escalate from slingshots to the use of all kinds of weapons, ultimately destroying the ceasefire agreement that was painstakingly reached by the Cambodian and Thai leadership, with the active mediation of the Prime Minister of Malaysia and participation from China and the US,” he added. Hun Sen said he had temporarily refrained from raising the issue to allow Thai leadership time to become aware of the situation and to let the international community understand the gravity of the matter. He urged the Cambodian government to immediately order its armed forces to halt any such actions, should they be occurring. At the same time, he expressed hope that the Thai leadership would take similar steps to prevent further escalation, as evidenced by the images he attached to his post.

[Op-Ed] An Urgent Call for Expedited Action and Clarity on Heritage Protection in Cambodia and Thailand It is regrettable that UNESCO’s statement on the protection of heritage in Cambodia and Thailand, particularly with regard to the Preah Vihear Temple, was only issued on July 30, 2025, following the conclusion of the ceasefire. This delayed response has drawn criticism, especially as Cambodia's Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts had publicly condemned the significant damage to the temple as early as July 24. phnompenhpost.com/opinion/an-urg…

[Op-Ed] Thai Narrative Masks a Calculated Playbook of Time and Control When the guns fell silent on the night of July 28, 2025, many hoped it marked a turning point at the border. After days of clashes that left soldiers dead, civilians displaced and historic cultural heritage sites severely damaged, Cambodia and Thailand finally agreed to a ceasefire, brokered through urgent regional diplomacy led by Malaysia, with support from the US and China. phnompenhpost.com/opinion/thai-n…

Out of twenty Cambodian soldiers taken by Thailand after the ceasefire, only two have returned… injured and in unstable condition. To this day, the remaining eighteen are still being held. Their families wait in pain as the entire nation watches with heavy hearts fearing for the safety of our brave men. FREE OUR BRAVE SOLDIERS #CambodianVoiceMatters
