I’ve been working on a secret project. Today, I finally get to share it with the world —> I wrote a book on visualization for elite athletes. Visualization is one of the most powerful tools used by great athletes, entrepreneurs, and leaders. They see their success in their mind before it happens. But when I went looking for a clear, step-by-step guide on how to do it effectively, I couldn’t find one. The few books that existed weren’t grounded in science. So, I went into the research lab myself — reading over 100 scientific papers on visualization — and distilled the findings into something practical and accessible for athletes and other high achievers.

Good information here from Dr. Ryan Davis on @athletexpodcast “I think a coach needs to not be afraid to be fired. And the best coaches would rather get fired and do what they think is best than stay in the job.” “OCPD” “Kind of a lifelong condition which people are overly perfectionistic, tend to be more rigid, sort of don’t always take criticism very well, kind of think they know what is best and perfection is often not good enough.” “Can be a strength as long as it doesn’t go too far.” “It often takes people around the athlete to kind of give some feedback and so hopefully the athlete is able to, and willing to, listen to those that they care about that are around them.” “There should be somebody that is a little more abrasive, not because they are abrasive, but just because they see the world a little bit different and kind of show the other side of things.” A lot of coaches are prepared to potentially speed up an athlete, so to speak, but often not prepared to deal with athletes like this who may need to slow down a bit and desperately need someone to shoot it to them straight. No nonsense. Too many yes men around them.
