Thanks for flagging this. We run a couple of marketplace promotions each year (including Black Friday and the .COM birthday sale). Sellers always have the option to opt in or opt out from their marketplace settings. These events typically drive meaningfully higher sell-through rates across the marketplace, but we want sellers to decide whether they’d like to participate or offer a discount. We also display dashboard notices about 10 days before the promotion begins so sellers have time to adjust their participation. We’ll also look into adding additional reminders via messages or email to make sure everyone is aware.
