If I’m ever having a bad day - or in this case, week - I flip open my wallet where this little piece of card is waiting to cheer me up.
This is my ticket that was drawn out of the ballot to play Augusta National the day after the 2023 Masters.
It has been in my wallet ever since as a very visual and deliberate reminder that no two days are created equal. Some suck; others are the stuff that dreams are made of.
Onwards into the weekend! ⛳️

Al Trautwig was as good as it gets, both personally and professionally. They say you should never meet your heroes. In this case, they could not have been more wrong.

Absolutely gutted by this news. Al Trautwig was my biggest idol growing up. As fate would have it, he was ultimately the person who gave me my start as well.

Very sad to hear the news of Al Trautwig’s passing. Al elevated our @nycmarathon broadcasts with his enthusiasm and gravitas over many years, including when Fred Lebow ran his race while battling cancer in 1994, the day the world came to run & honor NYC in 2001, and the 2007 double weekend with the men’s USA Olympic trials in 2007. Saddened to hear of the passing of Al Trautwig. He was a long-time colleague and friend. He was the legendary host of @MSGNetworks . He only needed a clipboard with a few notes and - would just go. When it came to extemporaneous speaking - he was among the best ever. RIP Al. 🙏
