You should have at least 6 months to 1 year of cash savings safely put away. Humphrey Bogart used to keep a $100 bill in his dresser drawer at all times a decent chunk of change in the 1920s. He referred to it as his ‘FU money’, because it meant he’d never be forced to take a crappy part. According to Bogie, the only good reason for making money was “so you can tell any SOB in the world to go to hell”. FU money means you can walk away from a shitty situation. You can fire an annoying client. You can turn down offers that conflict with your values, or are just plain boring. You can call out any shady behavior in your company or industry, instead of being held hostage by a comfortable salary.

on self respect if you hate yourself and do not value yourself its bcuz you have given a reason not to value yourself. we dont just disrespect others who are low value, we disrespect ourselves for it too. exception to this are ppl with narcissistic personality disorders that make the individual delusion about their own value. if bulk of your time goes to junk activites, you will be directionless. there will be no feedback loops in ur life to give you self esteem. george mack shared an image where a patient reports to the doc "I stopped overthinking and started taking action but now i have this warm feeling inside my chest", Doc replies "oh thats a rare condition known as SELF ESTEEM". only thru action you will be rewarded with self esteem. it feeds on itself. push yourself. see a small gain. get validated by your small gain. feel the resulting pride that comes from being better at something and seeing yourself grow. as humans we are meant to grow, to flourish to actualize. we desire growth and live for growth. for without growth we feel purposeless. In the absence of growth we flounder. when junk activities start to comprise the majority of your time expenditure you rob yourself from the opportunity to grow. the higher your value the more you will come to value your time by the merit of recognizing your abilities and possessing a resulting self respect as such. High value or not, we all have a finite about of time until we die and every second wasted is a missed opportunity feeding into a sense of lethargy and greatness.

It’s tough to be a man, you have to work for it, you don’t bust out into the world with a nice dress at 18 being the object of desire for 50% of the population, it takes a lot of blood, sweat and tears as well as years upon years of both economic and personal graft. This is why your twenties isn’t “your time to have fun because you’re young” but it’s your time to “build your life and become the man that you want to be”, if you’re not going to do it now when you’re at your most malleable and most energetic, when are you going to do it? In your 30’s? Your 40’s? Forever a teenager condemned to playing Xbox and masturbating to porn? You can do that, plenty do and what they get to enjoy is a limited existence, you’ll never get powerful being that guy although you may find joy in the acceptance of your comfortable monotony, your rut.

learn to apply and demonstrate physical strength thru martial arts ..jits wrestling muay thai although it is a physical discipline it is psychologically different from the other disciplines listed, knowing how to kick the shit out of people does a lot for a man’s sense of confidence and thus his attractiveness to everyone around him, you can protect you and yours, anybody who messes with you or your friends will face a force to be reckoned with. If there’s ever a zombie apocalypse you can go down snapping some heads off, there’s no reason to neglect this it’s something every man can work on and acquire.

learn how to speak multiple languages shows intelligence sophistication opens up social circles which would otherwise be closed to you due to language barrier, e.g. “my Spanish crew” “my Arab boys” etc. popular ignorant Anglo sphere belief there’s a lot of likeable people who could enrich your life that don’t know English

have a focus on a discipline of some sort that makes money and stick with it, otherwise you’ll be saying “Do you want fries with that?” or “Can I pour you sum water?” like the little economic bitch boy that you’ve allowed yourself to become.

Your entire 20’s as a man should be about actualisation, self-improvement, chasing the wind, enriching yourself, improving your skill sets, you are free from commitment and the debilitating burden of family life, you have no responsibilities, no ball and chain (wife).

women who should be using their youth to lock down a suitable suitor in their early 20s (preferably an accomplished successful man in his late 20’s or early to mid-30’s). a young man of the same age should be doing everything he can to improve his position in the social marketplace, to utilise his own innate potential to evolve and become better than he is.

the most tested, destitute person will be dipped in to paradise and the sheer brilliance of that single second will completely erase a lifetime of hardship. there is a profound beauty in choosing the hard road. involuntary thru illness, poverty, and grief and voluntary thru daily friction of forcing yourself out of bed for prayer, pushing your body and mind to build things that serve god.

audit you circle. if you are the most driven successful guy in ur immediate circle complacency is inevitable bcuzthe brain uses them as a benchmark. seek out space where ur current maximum is just the baseline requirement for others to even show up. when you see dudes operating at 10x ur capacity as if its a normal tuesday complacency evaporates

Great striving in first ten days Al-Qasim ibn Abi Ayyub reported: When Sa’id ibn Jubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, reached the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah, he would exert himself in worship so greatly that he would nearly overwhelm himself.

Virtue of ten days of Dhul-Hijjah Ibn Abbas reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No good deeds are better than what is done in these first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah.” Some companions of the Prophet said, “Not even jihad in the way of Allah?” The Prophet said, “Not even jihad in the way of Allah, except for a man who goes out with his life and wealth at risk and he returns with nothing.”

not to exaggerate but if you are not praying fajr at mosque you are a weak man. No matter how big your muscles are and how much you can fight if you cannot be in the lines of the morning you will be weak in front of Allah. Allah judges if ur "high value" or not.
