@seafoamsafari @Dr_GrantSeeker space to exist, observe and explore at your own pace is the name of Animal Kingdom’s game (and much needed in the other parks), and though Dinoland’s version of it may have been cheap in the literal sense, it was definitely not without heart

@atthefunk @Dr_GrantSeeker 💯💯💯 also the fact that you can just walk in and start doing something - playing games, Photo Booth, or a ride - without planning or waiting is sooooo needed in the parks. Such a loss!

Dinorama is closing today, Jan. 12, after pleasing and disappointing some guests since 2001. The land was always ridiculed as a cheap addition to Animal Kingdom, but during these last months fans have come to appreciate the backstory, the charm and the community around it! 🦖🦕 Lore wise, the area began as a gas station run by original characters Chester and Hester. They saw the Dino institute open next door and decided to open up a merch store called Dinosaur Treasures. They kept adding more and more kitschy additions and then Dinorama became what we know today. Even though Dinorama wasn’t an opening day land, Chester and Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures gift shop did open with the park in 1998. So this land can be traced back to the opening of the park. Three Cheers to Dinorama! A land I always blamed for being the downfall of Dinoland USA as a whole, but have come around to just enjoying and letting the fun take over. We’ll miss you Dinorama! 🥲🦕🦖

I still can't believe Disney's closing Dinosaur :( They'll really operate a theme park with 5 rides on tons of empty land & still insist on tearing one out to build anything new, just to save a little on construction. Like god forbid you have a park in Florida with 10 good rides
