@x1lly @ClJina36865 I was using my OWN results as a REFERENCE POINT. We don’t know their situation, so assuming degradation doesn’t make sense. They asked what to set it to 50 is a reasonable target for maximum performance, but like any OC, it still has to be TESTED for STABILITY.

@atx03__ @ClJina36865 YOUR CPU is 1 of many, I don't care what YOU can achieve, I've worked on hundreds of i9s they do not do 50 half the time unless its a brand new chip, most people who still own an i9 are most likely degraded and cannot do 50 as if its a new chip, its not safe for 80% of users

THERE IS A HIDDEN INTEL BIOS SETTING THAT CAN LOWER YOUR INPUT LAG. Most people have never touched it. It is called Ring Ratio or Cache Ratio. It controls how fast your CPU cores, cache, and memory talk to each other. A faster ring means data moves faster. Your PC feels more responsive. Open HWiNFO first and check your current ring clock. Then go into BIOS and find Ring Ratio, Cache Ratio, or CPU Cache Ratio. Raise it by two. Test. Watch for crashes. P.S. this only works if you have an unlocked processor and motherboard otherwise setting it in BIOS won't even apply

@x1lly @ClJina36865 i9-14900K and i9-14900KF are powerful cpus, the ring ratio limits are identical i’ve had mine at 50 for months now and have had no issues. Research will also tell you 50 is typically the max if fully stable, which my system is, and 51 for enthusiasts/extreme OC

@atx03__ @x1lly All Intel chips are like that; the clock speed only locks in during heavy workloads. I set the Windows power management to 90%—I don't need 100% for gaming, as the RTX 5070 already delivers near-maximum FPS.

@ClJina36865 @x1lly 50 i have mine on 50 but that cpu could probably even push 51 or 52 max try it yourself and see if you crash but a safe number is 50
