Got the same scam DM as @dagorenouf, here's what I did & how you STAY SAFE ➡️ look at the X profile HUGE 🟥 flag: "Not followed by anyone you’re following" for someone working on research at @DecryptMedia I have enough quality connections on X+CT for this to raise a flag. If you don't, check if they have relevant followers: ppl working at Decrypt, top ppl in the industry, etc ➡️ checked the posts on X 🟥 flag: Only RTs, no posts! ok, mb only does research, not writing the articles? 🟥 flag: pinned post + RTs from Coindesk? ok, maybe changed jobs? but why not mentioning Coindesk in her bio like she does already for FT and Decrypt? ➡️ Reverse Image Search 🟥🟥🟥 This is where I stopped, confirmed something's fishy: Google image search had this image on a different X profile: FHaskaraman Other things to do if unusure and need more proof: ➡️ check LinkedIn ➡️ check other social media apps (IG, TikTok, YT) ➡️ if there are signs it can be legit, respond but stay vigilant: no clicking links, no downloads/installs, no sharing of relevant info on your side. Stay safe and have a great weekend! ☀️🌻 PS this is time consuming, so if you're getting tons of these you might be better off ignoring them
