So many work places don't even have a mother's room, let alone pumping time. Then freeze, store, commute. My God! the nerves to put this shortage blame squarely on moms 3/3

Breastfeeding requires effort, rested mother, proper diet and stress free environment to maintain a consistent supply. It is insane to expect mothers to pump in between meetings and work...2/n

In a country where there is no paid maternity leave, and mothers are left to scramble their sick leave and PTOs to cover for any maternity leave, suddenly people expect mothers to breastfeed because there is formula shortage... 1/n

Truth. If the data says tested 2 doses give enough immunity to prevent severe cases and reduce hospitalizations and deaths in 2-5 yo, Pfizer should submit to FDA for 2 doses right now. Third dose can be added later. We cannot rely on adults yo be responsible to protect the kids

COVID Update July 7: I spent the last 24 hours with 3 scientists, all of whom have seen vaccine data, 2 of whom are former regulators, all of whom have opinion. Will 🧵 soon if interested.

Marie Curie died of aplastic anaemia on 4 July 1934, a result of years of exposure to radiation through her work. Even today her laboratory notebook from 1899-1902, is radioactive and will be for 1,500 years. #NobelPrize

THREAD EXPLAINING NEGATIVE OIL: Oil costs $ to store. Due to the economic collapse, oil isn't being used much. So all the storage facilities are filled up. So nobody who can store it will buy it from you. If you want to get rid of oil, you have to pay someone. That's the thread

What is going on? Those with proven need are denied medicine. I had juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, and I survived on this drug some time back. It helped me complete my college which was increasingly becoming difficult. Terrifying for people in need.

Here's something I once learned in virology school that should make you feel a bit better about why, unlike the flu, #COVID19 most likely won't be able to mutate to escape the vaccines we're developing. It has to do with the fact that COVID-19's genome is made up of...

No one is invincible. While you may get a mild case, you might give it to someone who will get a severe case. Stay home, reduce the spread, protect the vulnerable, don't strain the health case system. This is a once in a lifetime pandemic, let's help fight it together. #Covid19
Archive: Governor Andrew Cuomo@NYGovCuomo

Younger people listen up: 55% of NYS #Coronavirus cases are ages 18-49. Young people aren’t invincible. You can get this and you can give it to someone older you love. You shouldn’t endanger your own health & you certainly shouldn't endanger other people's health. #StayAtHome

Great summary of Imperial College report on #Covid19. In a related news, at least one of the researchers of this very important study has come down with #Covid19 . Do your part to flatten the curve or better yet, supress.
Jeremy C. Young@jeremycyoung

We can now read the Imperial College report on COVID-19 that led to the extreme measures we've seen in the US this week. Read it; it's terrifying. I'll offer a summary in this thread; please correct me if I've gotten it wrong. imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial…

Everyone in New York should assume that they have been in contact with #COVID 19,”. I too caught terrible flu in early Feb. I still haven't fully recovered. Who knows if I caught something right after and I am here thinking this was one terrible flu? 🤔 foreignpolicy.com/2020/03/14/new…
