@NatalieSaar I ball up the paper towel and then soak it in water. Like sopping wet. Then I leave it on the counter right next to the onion, ideally between the onion and your eyeballs because the stuff that makes you cry is attracted to moisture apparently. Sometimes I even do 2 paper towels
