@stpfau two ideas: Saidiya Hartman's "Venus in Two Acts" (possibly alongside "The Dead Book" from LOSE YOUR MOTHER) and Sally Mann's IMMEDIATE FAMILY

“I was rooting for you, ****** ********, we were all rooting for you!!!” — me reading the latest book from a writer of many beloved-by-me books which unfortunately is a major flop….won’t be saying which. Unless you DM me in which case I’m more than. Happy to

My second chapbook, SURVIVED BY, has a cover! You can preorder now at the link in my bio. Big gratitude to brilliant @AnnarVerold and Claire Bowman of @hostpublication for helping creating the poetic atlas of my dreams. Excited to hold it in my hands. 💙

are there other examples of writers who write Big 5 and small press books simultaneously? (not a trajectory towards one or the other). I'm thinking of like K-Ming Chang, who in between Big 5 books wrote a chapbook for Bull City, has a novella coming out with Coffee House, etc

@ParadiseLAust Have you read Alice Oswald’s Memorial (a version of the Iliad)? It’s one of my favorites of all time

Almost done with The Iliad so next I’ll be spending winter with Ovid for the first time! Love slowly but surely filling in my classics gaps.

@emily_skillings I think of Srikanth Reddy’s Underworld Lit as one long poem! It’s incredible

It’s kind of wild how many formative books of poetry were ones I just randomly pulled off a library shelf when I was in college. Happened to pull The Wild Iris when I was a freshman and it felt like I had walked through a pane of glass.

@vincentscarpa I have the urge to open it and sprinkle it over my dinner. Stir it into coffee like a sugar packet.

@seeshespeak Toni Morrison. The novels of course, but also her nonfiction, her (one!) story, her libretto and plays…

Tell me about an author for whom you are an incorrigible completist — e.g. you have, or else will, read everything they’ve ever written.
