The U.S. Supreme Court just weakened a cornerstone of our democracy. The Voting Rights Act exists to protect every American’s voice—this decision moves us backward. We must keep fighting to ensure free, fair, and accessible elections for all.

Pennsylvania's union workers are the best in the country and @JoshShapiroPA and I have their backs. I'm proud to be working with our brothers and sisters at the Pennsylvania @Teamsters to fight for workers' rights day in and day out.

I’m closely monitoring the reports of a shooting at tonight’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. What should have been an evening celebrating the First Amendment and a free press instead turned into a moment of fear and uncertainty. My thoughts are with everyone who was in attendance, including the journalists, staff, and public servants who found themselves in harm’s way. I’m grateful to the law enforcement and security personnel who acted swiftly to protect lives. Tonight’s violence is a stark reminder that gun violence is far too prevalent in this country. Every person deserves the right to feel safe and be safe.

What an incredible weekend for the Steel City! Proud to see 2026 NFL Draft shine right here in Pittsburgh—bringing fans, future stars, and energy from across the country to our doorstep. From the first pick to the final call, this draft showcased the heart, hospitality, and grit that define our region. Over 320,000 fans attended Day 1 of the NFL Draft, breaking the attendance record and showing the world just how amazing Pittsburgh is.

Our administration has made sure that hosting the NFL Draft in Pittsburgh is more than just about football.   It’s a way to draw private and state investments to Western PA, plan future economic projects, boost job creation, and support our thriving sport and entertainment industries. We’ve already seen over $600 million invested in Downtown Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, revitalizing communities and growing our businesses–and there’s a lot more to come!

With Universal Free Breakfast, we’re stamping out hunger here in Pennsylvania and providing kids with healthy and nutritious meals to start their school day – and with our philanthropic partners like the Steelers and the NFL, we’re making sure children in Pennsylvania don’t go hungry.   I want to thank my wife, Second Lady, and the Steelers own, Blayre Holmes Davis who helped to organize this fantastic event.

Today, I’m thrilled that the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court has officially struck down the restrictive ban on abortions for women on Medicaid.   Everyone, regardless of your income, deserves access to reproductive healthcare. And since we took office, Governor Shapiro and I have always defended your right to make your own reproductive healthcare decisions–and we always will.

Every worker deserves a safe workplace. Every worker deserves the benefits and pensions they’ve negotiated for and that they’ve earned. Every worker deserves the right to organize and be represented in the workplace. As long as @JoshShapiroPA and I are in charge, right to work is dead in PA!

Our THIRD round of BOOST funding is now live! Building Opportunity through Out-of School Time has already provided dozens of organizations across Pennsylvania with the ability to expand services and open up doors for more kids to participate in after school and summer programs.   I’m thrilled to see this program continue to make a positive impact in children’s lives.

Every mother deserves to be heard and respected during childbirth — but too many Black women face higher risks. When my wife and I had our beautiful baby girl, that fear was real for us too. So, @JoshShapiroPA and I took action, investing millions of dollars in maternal health to make sure that all women have safe, healthy, and empowering experiences here in our Commonwealth.

While Donald Trump and Republicans are raising costs, Lt. Gov @AustinDavisPA is kicking off a statewide tour focused on combatting inflation and raising the minimum wage to $15.

Every state dollar that’s poured into our CTE programs with workforce training for our trades and unions is a direct benefit for the students who will go on to secure high quality union jobs.   It’s a win for workers, unions, and our economy.
