My Darling Boy is 99p on Kindle! Best friends Alice & Chrissy are torn apart when one of their sons kills the other’s. When the killer is released from jail & then disappears, suspicion falls on Alice, the victim’s mother. But what will it cost Chrissy to find out the truth?

I tried out a chapter of my WIP at a meeting of @leicwritersclub last night. Much encouraged by the strength of the response. I will press on with it.

I hate this stuff about childless politicians being unfit to serve. Doing the right thing isn’t about doing stuff for your own kids. It’s about doing stuff for other people’s kids. All other kids.

The Bullet-Catcher's Daughter was published 10 years ago. So much has happened in my life since then that it feels like far longer ago. Thanks to @Marc_Gascoigne and @literarywhore for helping to usher it into the world. @angryrobotbooks

So this arrived, the D20 rules for Call of Cthulhu. Dark, deadly and horrific. The polar opposite of D&D 5e. And I love it. 😻

(I should point out that I have more or less converted Mum to reading @guardian (“so interesting!) from having been a Daily Mail reader for years. She stopped the Mail after a particularly poisonous Peter Hitchens rant.)

Quote of the day: Mum: “I never noticed before how rabidly Conservative the Telegraph is!” [Mum just returned from secret Mars mission…]

@timmckay52 Check out E F Benson (‘Mapp and Lucia’ Et al). He head-hops continuously and masterfully, sometimes between three characters. Honestly I never noticed it until I knew what head-hopping was. (And the novels are wonderful.)

❓ What makes head hopping so jarring? ❓ And is there a way to pull it off? In theory, I don't mind the idea of multiple POVs in a single chapter/section. I seem to recall it being popular for a time, but now it always throws me off and pulls me from the experience. Tips?
