hey @awnihannun is it possible in MLX-LM to have inference from multiple LLMs at the same time? I'd like to serve multiple AI agents on MStudio simultaneously but last I checked with llama.cpp the GPU could handle only one request at a time even with multiple threads/processes

@jwei221 As I know, it is a capability for LLM runtimes. In LM Studio there is an experimental option for KV Cache. But I don't know whether it is something you are looking for.

@auto_localize Great work! On problem for me using local llm for coding is that, all the calls to chat/completions is stateless, do you have special tricks to cache the prompt/kv?

LM Studio queues requests for a single loaded model instance, not allowing true parallelism (at least for now). THE TRICK : If you have sufficient VRAM, you can load the same model multiple times under different names (instances). Simultaneous requests to these instances will process in parallel. OUR SETUP : We leveraged our office M3 Ultra (512GB VRAM!) machine, simultaneously loading 8 instances of the Qwen3-Coder-30b model via LM Studio. We then built a custom Load Balancer application to route developer requests. RESULT : A high-throughput, parallel, local, and FREE LLM service serving every developer in the office! We've now open-sourced the Load Balancer app which is also developed using GLM 4.6 on LM Studio 😎. gpt-oss-120b is a great and fast model! Here batch inference with MLX: 335 tokens/sec on M3 Ultra! 🚀 Peak performance at batch_size 32 with context 2048 and 256 tokens generated. A tool to find optimal batch size per model/context/generation could be helpful 🤔
