@pippirose77 @wavebreakmedia You talked to a Shutterstock rep? In my experience, stock reps tend to contradict each other. Didn't someone recently notify Shutterstock about a fake author bio photo, and then the fake author image disappeared?

@pippirose77 @wavebreakmedia As for Shutterstock's license, I would count fake author bios on Amazon as the "deceptive" part of "Use any Visual Content in a pornographic, defamatory, or deceptive context, or in a manner that could be considered libelous, obscene, or illegal," but that's just me.

@pippirose77 @wavebreakmedia Fun fact: Adobe Stock doesn't want images with models used on romance covers (ikr!). Using a model for a fake romance author bio would probably also not be allowed under Adobe's terms.

@pippirose77 At least most of the #bookstuffers nowadays have the good sense to use author logos instead of pretending to be a model. Most, but not all.

@pippirose77 S.J. Mullins' author photo is a stock image by @wavebreakmedia. Shocking! Not. Pretty sure that use isn't covered by the stock agencies' license.

@stormowl7 An image by Aleta Rafton ended up on one of Torquay's covers too. It was probably lifted off Pinterest.

@lisa_marina Take this image down. You're infringing on Jon Paul Ferrara's hard work. Don't say it was all your "designer" and that you didn't know. You credit Jon Paul Art in your books, as if you thought it made everything okay.
