This World Water Day, let’s look back at one of the basic lessons in Araling Panlipunan and meet, once again, the terms for the various water bodies in Filipino! Despite their vastness, oceans and seas enabled exploration and connection between communities. Water bodies differ in form and function; bays are partially enclosed, rivers flow through winding paths, and waterfalls are defined by height. These features influenced how societies developed. Communities near water often rely on fishing and sea transport, shaping their culture and livelihoods.
