NEW: Bloomington Police arrest a man for child solicitation who told a juvenile he was a teacher at a college. James K. Self was taken into custody today regarding accusations connected to Florida that started back in October of last year. According to police, an investigator with the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office conducted an undercover operation where officers were posing as juveniles in an effort to identify individuals soliciting juveniles online for sex acts. Police say Self initiated conversation with a juvenile who was posing as a 14-year-old boy. They say he requested nude photos of the "boy" and told him he wanted to meet up and have sex. Police say Self sent photos of his genitals and identified himself as a teacher at a college. The Florida investigators determined the suspect was 61-year-old James K. Self of Bloomington. He was taken into custody in Bloomington at 6:45 this morning during a traffic stop. Investigators also served a search warrant at Self's residence. We have reached out to IU where a man with the same name and middle initial is a a director of undergraduate studies.
