@averagejoelle Funny enough (or sad enough), some millennials use this approach to coach their junior, most often Gen Z, team members. This results in an increasing number of workers who are unable to solve simple problems w/o step-by-step instructions.

Millennial parents will literally peel and cut their kids apples into tiny animals but not teach them how to function when things don’t go exactly how they want.

Agree. I think a lot of people become overwhelmed by the planning and decision making process and are unaware of risks and complications of doing nothing-or not enough. It’s very hard to get people’s attention in this area. Yet it affects all of us. I see the poor outcomes all the time. Policy-wise we’ve got a lot of problems that need fixing.

I often consider just hitting select all, deleting everything, then waiting to see who sends me a follow-up on whatever was urgent or important that I missed. I admit there may be some flaws in this plan.
