Congratulations to seniors Avery McEwen (infielder), Lleyton Lage (outfielder), and Nathan Zumbrunnen (pitcher) for being selected to the MHSBCA All-District team!! HC John Knorr was also selected as the All-District coach.

District Championship highlights: SP Avery McEwen goes 7 innings , scattering 7 hits and 2 runs with 6k’s. Elliot Pike gets the win with a perfect 8th. Nate Zumbrunnen goes 3-3 at the plate with 2 RBI and Adam Adair walks it off with a sac fly to score McEwen!!

Highlights from the district semifinals win over Saline: WP Nate Zumbrunnen (6ip,6H,1R,5k). Adam Adair closes the 7th. 2 hits each by Adair and Zumbrunnen and a first inning 2 run HR by Avery McEwen. Pio wins 5-1!!

Senior Day!! Come out to the ballpark and celebrate our seniors in a DH vs Adrian. Game one starts at 11:00. Adam Adair, Ewan Lemens, Griffin Siersma, Lleyton Lage, Caleb Lorenz, Owen Nesbit, Avery McEwen, Tobin Tuzinsky, Nate Zumbrunnen & Tys Verhey-Henke. Go Pio!!

It’s a Sweep! Tys Verhey-Henke (4ip, 2H, 0ER, 2K) gets the W in game 3 vs Bedford as Pioneer wins 6-1. Avery McEwen goes off offensively (3-3, triple, RBI) as the Pioneers win their 8th in a row to improve to 18-9 on the season.

Another strong outing for SP Elliott Pike (5ip, 4H, 2ER, 4K) leads the Pioneers to a 7-2 victory and series win vs Skyline. Lleyton Lage (2ip, 0H, 1K) solid in relief. Avery McEwen with a 2 run double to break the 2-2 tie in the 5th.

Avery McEwen (7ip, 5H, 1 ER, 6k) gets the CG win in the back half of the doubleheader with Monroe. McEwen helps his own cause with 2 hits & Elliott Pike chips in with 2 hits & 2 RBI’s. Pioneer wins 9-1. Series finale at Pioneer Wednesday.
