@NUFCThreatLevel It's because the prem has a 5cm margin of error given to the attacker in recognition that the tech is not 100% accurate (all systems have a margin of error) If the animation was straight along the line , you could have the attacker looking offside. Uefa doesn't have the 5cm

I think in every other league, or European competition that uses VAR it shows the proof of an offside with an image straight across the pitch. But the Premier League does so at a weird, slightly off angle. Why?? Needlessly leaves it open to questioning.

Lemme get something straight Egypt 🇪🇬 charge $200,000 – $700,000+ per transit through the Suez Canal. Ultra-large container ships or tankers can exceed $1 million. Panama 🇵🇦 charge $100,000 – $450,000 per transit. Large Neopanamax ships cost up to $500,000+ to pass the Panama Canal. Turkey 🇹🇷 charge fees for the Bosporus Strait. Canada 🇨🇦 charges fees for the St Lawrence Seaway. The United States 🇺🇸 charges for the St Lawrence Seaway. Iran 🇮🇷 refused to charge for the Straight of Hormuz toll-free for decades. They made it FREE! Despite being vilified, sanctioned, and Isolated, But you want me to believe Iran 🇮🇷 is the bad country here? 😤

@DaleJohnsonBBC I've just seen the Minteh goal...and I'm probably missing something obvious but why wasn't it offside (apologies if it was var'd and covered on MoTD!!)

@bytemine @VikingNAFOFella @nexta_tv They're not but when someone does work and reserach to look how this operates in the real world...and comes up with some sort of scoring system. If you're 2nd vs 58th - USA is more than likely, "less free" than Estonia. So I'm going to go with the index.

@VikingNAFOFella @nexta_tv Nobody said “facts don’t matter.” The point is that rankings aren’t holy scripture. You can cite a number all day, it still doesn’t answer how power behaves when criticism hits home.

Kaja Kallas said that there is less freedom of speech in the United States than in Estonia “I come from a country that ranks second in the freedom of speech index, and for me to hear lectures about free speech from a country that ranks 58th in that same index is… interesting,” Kallas said, commenting on criticism from Marco Rubio about freedom of speech in Europe.

Sky outing the VAR room for having a feed to commentary is probably the biggest eye opener of the weekend. Crazy that whatever pundits are saying should be influencing major decisions in premier league games.

@DaleJohnsonBBC The common sense test is....this is penalty. Imagine if you were writing the rules now or sat with them drafting the rules 100+ years ago. I think everyone would be agreeing this would be a penalty.

@colinmufc2 Learn the rules - they are asking for a handball with a goal scored from it. Doesn't matter if it was intentional or not for this rule.

Seeing that Dorgu goal again If football starts disallowing goals for handball when a player’s arm is straight down at his side then the game is well and truly dead Can’t believe Arsenal fans are even calling for that Actually, it’s Arsenal fans, I can believe it

@RCMCFCX3 @HACKETTREF That was probably the original itention of the law. The problem is the "making yourself bigger"/"Star jump" situation. UEFA have taken that - and then assumed everyone is doing it. The law says "deliberate" I reckon 95% of hand penalties given weren't deliberate by the plauer

@HACKETTREF Seeing a lot of the balance argument about, I’ve got one question for anyone that says/thinks that, where is the threshold ? the way some are talking you’d have to tip one round the post to get a pen

@HACKETTREF I've watched it again, he's gone to kick it. He can't make the kicking motion without the arms moving as well for balance. Its how bodies move.

@HACKETTREF Respect your opinion as a top ref. But balance usually comes with two arms...think about a gymnast on a beam or an acrobat on a high wire...two arms out wide for balance. We're seeing two arms here... balance.

@FUDdaily So they hung back and used USAF close support to "hang back at base"? If course they didn't. You're muddying the water by talking about equipment. What is your goal here?

Except Trump was at least half right. Britain was forced to stop patrolling Basra because all we had was unarmoured Land Rovers, so British troops were confined to base, forcing the US Stryker brigades to race south to stop a wider disintegration. His essential point that NATO contributions to operations are next to useless holds water. British troops in Afghanistan had to rely on USAF close air support because useless Harriers could only stay on station for twenty minutes. US troops called the British "the borrowers" because we didn't have enough of anything, not least helicopters. We only had a handful of birds for the whole of Helmand province. The reason we lost 475 people was because the British Army is so fucking useless - sending Pinzgauers and Jackals out on regular patrol routes lined with IEDs.
Kemi Badenoch@KemiBadenoch

I’m pleased President Trump has now acknowledged the role of the British armed forces and those brave men and women who gave their lives fighting alongside the US and our allies. It should never have been questioned in the first place.

Three points on Haaland offside image as they keep being raised. 1) Offside line drawn to Pope as second-last defensive player 2) 5cm tolerance level auto applies if the red and blue lines touch, which they do not 3) Thiaw holding Haaland not relevant for offside judgement

One of the worst VAR decisions yet that. And don’t get me started on that little speech they have to do now either, they absolutely lap it up, knocks me sick. Get rid of it all.

@ScottCTomo88 @dchilton83 @nsno_83 Thing is is hasn't been changed - its always been the law. VAR just makes it easier to spot these. Really hard for linos and refs to 1) see offside anyway and 2) trying to see if somone impacted ability to "play the ball". Which is why pre VAR they were rare.

@ScottCTomo88 @dchilton83 @nsno_83 I agree - but its the law and unless they change them we have to play with them. The fact that 50% of people on here think that Thiaw was playing him on makes me think they don't know the rules so of course are going to be annoyed if thats what they think.
