@RealDaveGuttman @xevekiah You honestly think they would have told a man with the same symptoms that it was just anxiety? I will admit the healthcare system is messed up in many ways, but please don’t try to minimize that this is a real problem in care for women.

@xevekiah How on earth do you see this as misogyny? This is our fucked up medical system and it treats men and women equally badly. If the only lens you have is of misogyny that’s all you will see.

I remember the time I went to the ER 3 months postpartum because I couldn’t stop vomiting and my chest felt tight. I kept telling them: this isn’t anxiety. Something is wrong. The nurse glanced at my chart and said, “A lot of new moms feel overwhelmed.” A resident came in, barely looked at me, and said, “It’s probably a panic attack. Try to relax.” They left me in a hallway bed. No monitor. No urgency. Just that look that says you’re being dramatic. I whispered, “I think I’m going to pass out.” He laughed and said, “You’re safe here. You’re not dying.” Ten minutes later I stood up and collapsed. Suddenly there were doctors everywhere. Suddenly they checked my oxygen. Suddenly they rushed me to imaging. CT scan: pulmonary embolism. Blood clots in my lungs. The same doctor who told me to “relax” came back acting shocked. He said, “Good thing you came in.” I looked at him and thought: I didn’t just come in. I begged to be taken seriously. Why am I telling you this? Because if I didn’t collapse in front of them, I genuinely think I would’ve been sent home with “anxiety” and a pamphlet about breathing exercises

On June 2, 2025, Sergeant of the Guard Sgt. 1st Class Andrew Jay took his final walk as a Tomb Guard at Arlington National Cemetery. In a powerful farewell, he laid roses at each crypt of the Unknown Soldiers, then walked off the plaza hand in hand with his 8-year-old son, Finn.

@Doylecorder Originally I thought it was a pic of the old nine-hole Chaparral Ridge, which was on LCU property. But that’s The Rawls. And an old pic (see the coliseum back there?) at that.

Okay listen. There are not many people who love LCU athletics as much as I do. We do have athletic excellence and top-tier facilities. But that bottom right pic is not one of them😂
