Progress on QEMU 11.0 with PC-9821 patch. MS-DOS, Windows 95 and 2000 works with Cirrus SVGA driver. FM and PCM sound works. This port is highly relying on the NP21/W effort for HW analysis. github.com/awemorris/qemu… #PC98 #RetroPC

@pony9821 Actually, the first computer I ever used was PC-9801NS with 386SX and IDE. It was very similar to 9821 except graphics. So, I never really have experience of 16-bit 98 culture, with things like EMS boards and 2-FDDs...

Since I only have several PC98 machines, it's difficult for me to pursue accurate peripheral emulation. I believe the best approach is to use QEMU for PC98 OS development, while relying on NP21/W for playing various games..!!

@jyuuroku_labo Thanks for the feedback!! I'll work on fixing the details and would like to submit a patch to QEMU as soon as possible. Hmm, I wonder if there's a PR on their GitLab? It'd be great if I had a mentor...

@awe_morris At this point I think you have it pretty much done, try with some actiony PC-98 games with lots of scrolling and sprites, try office and basic work apps, maybe can test MIDI input/output too and then prepare the PR for QEMU to add it.

たまげたなぁ・・・。自分も最近フルカラー画像をPC98に合わせた16色に減色するツールを作ってVNエンジン制作中だったから、この画像見た時は親近感しか湧かなかった。しかしこの方はプロのようだし、AIで作成した自分の物とは雲泥の差があるなぁ。勉強させてもらおう。

I'd like to get this patch into the QEMU mainline, but QEMU is unlikely to support FDI/HDI formats. So I included a simple converter in the binary. I also included a GUI launcher.

QEMU mainline won't accept merging FDI/HDI, so we need a converter. Also, a simple wrapper GUI is required for Windows users including me! (I use all OSes)

Cheap UI, still useful for me!
