@Clevy_Law Meta: knowing which tech is the solution, and how to manage the change around it.

It thrills me to announce that as of today I have joined @HelloMalbek as their Director of Legal and Evangelist! I truly believe in @Malbek's ability to make a significant difference in helping companies with their contracting challenges! #law #legaltech #business #learning

@lawheroez A robust ecosystem of MS Word-based addins + lack of essential features in G Docs (no numbered paragraphs!) means that it’ll be hard for law firms to make the switch.

@ariozick I’ve had this talk with Republicans before. Universal healthcare in Canada is *the* reason I could quit my job to start a business — and it lowered my salary costs by not having to offer insurance as a baseline (though we now offer supplementary).

I have an unproven theory that this is one of the foundational reasons why Israel has so many startups. There's no worrying about health insurance.
Combine that with a "everything will be ok" attitude and
"rules are meant for others" mentality and you're cooking with gas.

@SamtLeslie @preston_holland Everyone in Israel is required to have healthcare, paid for by taxes. There are 4 HMOs that compete against each other. Beyond that level of insurance there are 2-3 levels of private insurance that cover things like private surgical center, private consults, transplants abroad

I started @CiteRight started with some really ugly mockups — and spent a lot of time showing those mockups to as many people as I could to get feedback on whether they'd use (and pay for!) what I was proposing to build.

Calling on #lawtwitter — @Clevy_Law and I need your help! What piece of tech or a specific practice did you pick up by necessity during the pandemic but will voluntarily continue with post-#Covid19? DM if you’d like to be interviewed for our upcoming @Legaltech_news article.

While we might not have magical books like the library at #Hogwarts, we do have library staff who are wizards at legal research! #LibrariesAreFundamental

@Breanna_Needham Usus, fructus, and abusus. Rule against perpetuities. And some excellent up-the-sleeve arguments about tax fairness.

@realsarahpolley True story. E (age 5) and I are out on his first ever on-road bike ride (on Shaw). E is a bit nervous. From way off, we hear Mouse King coming up behind us. As Mouse King overtakes us, he stops singing, looks at E, says “you’re doing great!” E is delighted. Made both our days.
English

@realsarahpolley We call him Mouse King in our family (based on a long song we once heard him sing at Christie Pitts).
