With the limited info we have rn, here’s my thoughts on predicting the next banner: -The worst thing they could do is Raf’s myth. Allegedly the PV for Raf’s myth was supposed to drop on the 25th, so while they could theoretically push it up to the 17th, it’s more than likely that they’ve had to make revisions to the card bc of gov involvement, so they’ll prob stick to their plan of the end of July -The second worst thing they could do is a new multi. There’s already multi fatigue (esp not helped by the last minute addition of WIW) so they’re at risk of upsetting the players who aren’t boycotting. That being said, there were rumors the next multi would include slick-back hairstyles, which if true, would be the ultimate test of the boycott’s strength. Still, I think the cons outweigh the pros (& that’s assuming the cards are even close to finished) -Less egregious would be a new solo card, but it would still be a bad idea bc it's an easy skip for non-mains & they need every player they can get to log in and spend rn. This option has very little return on their investment imo -Another multi rerun would be bad bc of multi fatigue & bc either multi rerun next in order could land them in hot water. Misty Oasis is too spicy for the level of scrutiny the company is under, but Yes, Cat Caretaker would just be a straight up fuck you to the Valko crowd that’s stuck around. -A solo rerun would make the most sense to me. If they're just trying to buy time to figure out a plan, they could do Sylus' No Defense Zone. It was supposed to be the next solo rerun & it's another highly anticipated card like WIW. While it's on the spicier side, it shows MC in a position of power, which could help dispel the 'PPG promotes women endangerment' smear that's running in the media. That being said, it carries the same disadvantages of the new solo card option, plus the fact that reruns are less profitable. -Then there’s Valko. Assuming PPG is open to the idea, Valko would be the best and worst choice they could make rn. The boycott would end, players would come back, revenue would go up, and everything would go back to plan. However, it would cause another severe wave of media & player backlash, & they’re barely holding on rn as it is. It’s a very high risk, high reward strategy. There is also the question of whether or not any revisions could be done fast enough. With how many outside forces are combining against PPG, the situation is a lot more dire than I think a lot of ppl realize. They’d have to be extremely careful So I’m leaning either No Defense Zone or Valko’s release are next. Either way, they’ve gotta address the players before they announce the next banner. -If I had to pick, I’m leaning NDZ, just bc I think the pressure is too high to do anything other than play it extremely safe. -Side note: it’s worth noting that PPG has effectively made the worst possible choices for long-term financial planning these last two weeks, so I’m not gonna hold my breath for them to make a good decision now. For that reason, anything is truly possible. -Another side note: if they don’t address players and just stealth drop NDZ like they did WIW, I think a lot of players will see it as the nail in the coffin for Valko & they’ll leave the game entirely. @InZayneLi Not very likely. Legally, government authorities can investigate whatever they want for any reason at their own discretion, and companies must comply. If they broached a deal that involved removing Valko, did it to assuage fan outrage, or to escape the bad press… we don’t know.

Keep in mind that I know very little of how China's government works. But how likely is it that Infold made the decision to cancel Valko last minute before the government could get to him? Like if he's canceled, they wouldn't have to investigate his content?

every time I see someone on xhs comment about "not enough homework during summer vacation", "when does school start again?" it's a nice reminder that every fandom is the same: full of loud children making things less pleasant for the rest of us

So I realize this is just an Otome game, but I wanted to give you all some guidance on protests as someone who has attended and participated in some that are more for heavy political issues. 💗 There are different roles in protests and in my opinion it’s important to recognize which role you can fulfill the best based on your skill set (though if you can do more than one since this it’s primarily online, all the better!) Marshals/Peacekeepers: those who guide the crowd and generally focus on safety. (This would be folks who in an online boycott are reminding folks not to engage with antis and generally help to keep us focused on our mission. They also might be those who remind you to take breaks, hydrate, rest, etc! I have assumed this role for myself.) Legal Observers: independent observers who document any right violations (these are influencers who are documenting the issues we are facing and are highlighting consumer rights violations!) Protesters: more generic, self explanatory. (Front line folks who are focused on spreading the message and rallying the continuation of the boycott and protesting! They are those you see going on focusing on tags and interaction!) Documentarians: narrative pushers and expand beyond the goal alone to garner support (think of folks who are sharing to news outlets, giving us information on charts, revenue, etc.) Mutual Aid Coordinators: pretty self explanatory (those who are collaborating heavily with our CN sisters are a good example!) Planners/Organizers: self explanatory. (These are folks who have coordinated fundraisers, charities, petitions, and have outlined ways to keep us organized towards our common goal similarly to marshals.)
