+Every mistake is simply proof of that. Hastur doesn't need to tell him that the food is shit, or that his failures are pathetic, because Derek *knows* that. It doesn't need to tell him anything at all, because It already implemented that knowledge into his brain.

+But I think it mostly comes from the fact that it's unwanted. Hastur doesn't go out of Its way to criticise everything Derek does just to ragebait him 24/7, but does speak to him in a condescending manner to remind him that he is lesser of the two of them.+

+one can imagine that *every* word The King directs at Derek is a poorly compressed image and they wouldn't technically be wrong! Derek interprets The King as literal words to make it easier on his mind though
