i had a manager straight up gaslight me & when i called him out on it, he doubled down. after a few more things & a year later, i learned he was able to properly retaliate against me before he left by spreading a lie & tarnishing my reputation. cheers 15 years in the industry 🥂

An art director once told me he wouldn’t promote me to senior because he “wasn’t a senior at my age”. Not only is that poor management, because he didn’t set me targets and chose a completely arbitrary metric for my progress but it also turns out it was discrimination and I could have filed a grievance. I wish I knew and understood my rights better as an employee. I wouldn’t never do that to my staff. Once again awful management. Tell me your grievances in gamedev.
