Today on the blog, we discuss a pathway for the second life of phones through the exploration of “phone cluster computing”, which can directly reduce the environmental footprint of computing by avoiding the need for further raw material extraction. More →goo.gle/4aJe5vO

Builder Spotlight: a private LLM running on a single phone, reachable as a standard OpenAI endpoint by @nodeghostai 🔥 No hosted API, no rented cloud GPU. The model runs on one attested Acurast processor. The Acurast tunnel makes that locally-bound model reachable at a public HTTPS URL, and NodeGhost serves it as a drop-in OpenAI-compatible endpoint through Bring Your Own Model. It's an ordinary OpenAI call. The machine answering it is a phone. One quantized Qwen2.5-3B model, one tunnel, one registration step. Deployable on Canary today, and honest about what a 3B model does on a mobile CPU. Full breakdown: acurast.com/blog/builder-s…

Longer cooldown. Stronger hardware. Bigger stake. Every variable you control drives the rewards you receive for staking. The Acurast network rewards those who commit. Got no hardware? No problem, you can even participate with your tokens only. Discover more: acurast.com/staking/

Cloudflare just confirmed it: agents now outnumber humans on the web. 57.4% of all traffic is automated, most of it AI agents browsing and acting for us. The crossover wasn't expected until 2027. It happened this week. Every one of those agents runs somewhere. Right now that means a handful of centralized clouds. One outage, one policy change, and part of the agentic internet goes dark. Acurast runs a network of 260,000+ smartphones across 175+ countries. Real devices, no data centers, no single point of failure. Acurast is the compute layer the agentic internet actually needs. Compute is scarce. Old smartphones are not. @Acurast closes that gap, turning the most abundant piece of personal hardware in the world into productive, rewarded infrastructure. Your spare phone isn't dead. It's just waiting.
