🇸🇦 In 2018, a man named Elias Abulkalaam Jamaleddeen broke into a woman’s home in Mecca, stabbed her to death, and robbed her. The man was captured, convicted and sentenced to death and crucifixion. He was beheaded, and his body was crucified and publicly displayed in Mecca. If this crime happened in the West, the convicted man would be spending his time in a 3 star motel, getting free food, clothing, electricity, housing, and entertainment, all paid for by the victim’s family and other law abiding residents. The difference between Islam and liberalism is vast when it comes to order and justice.

Changing the age of Aisha to meet ever-shifting modern standards doesn't solve anything. There is still the fiqh of marriage and the "age gap" arguments. It really boils down to simply acknowledging that the norms of society were different back then, this was a normal marriage in that time and place.
