I am incredibly impressed with how NiJaree Canady handled the post game interview. She OWNED the 3-0 pitchout being too close to the plate… & when people tried to say it was her first intentional walk all year - she said that was not an excuse… She’s battling thru injuries & said it wasn’t an excuses either… She did not “blame” anyone. She owned that pitch & apologized.. shit happens. That’s leadership. That’s accountability. Thank you for setting the standard for the next generation. 🙌

Also what we’re not gonna do is harass Nija for one errant pitch. Best pitcher in the country or not… she’s a human, playing on the biggest stage. Have some grace.
