Senior Counsel Mukul Rohatgi appears for Minister K.N. Nehru before the #MadrasHighCourt in a review application filed by him against the February 20, 2026 order to register a FIR in the alleged cash for jobs scam. He says, the court order accuses the Minister of several things without granting him an opportunity of hearing. He states that Mr. Nehru received the court notice on the afternoon of February 4, 2026 after the court had reserved orders in the case in the forenoon session. Mr. Rohatgi urges the Bench to stay the order until the next hearing of the review application. Chief Justice says there is no direction to register the FIR specifically against Mr. Nehru. The order only states that a FIR must be registered regarding the alleged offence. Senior counsel V. Raghavachari for AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP I.S. Inbadurai says he shall not pursue the contempt plea until the next hearing in June.
