@meowdka @hugh_janus8008 I am talking about very specific antipsychotics that have been proven to change metabolism a lot (although I cannot remember the names of them)

@ayneisback @hugh_janus8008 Commonly overestimated though , metabolism can change a bit, but most weight gain still comes from a consistent calorie surplus and short-term changes are often just water since metabolism can only change 50-150cals

@meowdka @hugh_janus8008 Metabolism changes can cause real weight gain because you're not burning as many calories as you used to / as you're supposed to

@ayneisback @hugh_janus8008 That is true! But it is not BODY FAT!! So if you’re talking about gaining body fat (long term weight) it’s impossible but for the scale to go up from water weight or retention from metabolism or bloating it will eventually go away.

@rengoescray Lowkey just get a shit ton of fruit and vegetables so that if you get the munchies, you're unlikely to gain weight !! Also I tend to not eat all day when I smoke weed so that when I'm high and get munchies I'm not likely to gain much weight

@meowdka @hugh_janus8008 This is incorrect. These specific medications do only impact your appetite so you are right there but there are certain medications (steroids, antipsychotics) that can impact your metabolism and cause swelling and bloating

@hugh_janus8008 It’s impossible for medication to make you gain weight it’s only calories in calories out so it’ll perhaps affect your appetite but you can control how your body gains weight regardless

@hugh_janus8008 Me personally, prozac didn't have an impact on my weight, zoloft reduced my appetite. I also have a partner that's on zoloft and they're pretty skinny
