The Memorandum of Understanding between @bndes and the Bank of Agriculture creates a collaborative framework for pursuing large-scale agricultural projects, including the co-development of urea projects for export to Brazil, joint investment in seed technologies for Nigeria in partnership with Brazil’s premier agricultural research agency, and the design of a credit facility for agricultural equipment financing, to supportsmall- and large-scale farmers from Brazil and Nigeria who seek to invest in the Nigerian agriculture sector.

At the Bank of Agriculture, we’ve seen what’s possible when rural communities have real access to funding, knowledge, and market pathways. The future of food in Africa won’t be dependent on importation.

When global conversations about food systems take place, my priority is clear: to bring the realities of rural Nigeria into the room, and keep them on the table. At the UN Food Systems Summit +4, I engaged with leaders across the continent on how Africa can build resilient, inclusive food systems, not just in theory, but in practice. That means unlocking finance for the smallholder farmer, trusting young agripreneurs with capital, and building structures that serve the people who feed us.

We discussed the realities on the ground, challenged old ways of thinking, and began shaping the framework for a more responsive, people-driven institution. Beyond reform, we are about building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and purpose.

The first official engagement with our Zonal Heads and Heads of Departments during the Enlarged Management Meeting was important, not just to connect, but to lay the foundation for the future of BOA.

Agriculture remains one of the most powerful engines of Nigeria’s economic future, and at the Bank of Agriculture, we are driving strategic efforts to unlock this potential by supporting and creating platforms for collaboration. Our discussion with the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce revealed key opportunities across Nigeria’s agricultural value chains. From ginger exports to livestock development and a potential trade fair collaboration, we are aligning efforts to unlock growth through agriculture. #BOANigeria #BankOfAgriculture #BOA #NigerianFarmers #AgriBusiness #KadunaChamberOfCommerce #GingerExportation #WealthThroughAgriculture

At the Bank of Agriculture, we see sustainable pasture development not just as an agricultural priority, but as a national calling. It holds the power to feed our nation, grow our economy, and foster harmony in our rural communities.
That’s why we were proud to stand alongside esteemed stakeholders at the Technologies for Sustainable Pasture Production and Management Workshop, an inspiring initiative by L-PRES, with support from the World Bank and Israeli partners.
Together, we explored bold innovations, from climate-smart practices to cutting-edge digital tools, all aimed at restoring our pasturelands and boosting livestock productivity for generations to come.
Swipe through to witness the moments that matter as we continue leading conversations that shape the heart of agribusiness in Nigeria.

Today, we take a moment to reminisce on the life and impact of a leader, a father and man of immense impact. My heart goes out to the family, friends, and the great people of Nigeria as we mourn the passing of our beloved former President, His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari GCFR. We are deeply saddened by this news and wish to extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones and the entire nation.

May his service to Nigeria be remembered and his contributions to our nation's development remain cherished. I pray that his passing brings us together in unity and strength, as we continue to work towards building a prosperous nation for all.

May his soul rest in peace, and may God comfort his family and friends during this difficult time. Amen.

In line with our continued commitment to strengthening and building a more resilient agricultural system, we participated in the National Agricultural Finance and Investment Roundtable hosted by @agra_nigeria, a dynamic convening of public and private sector leaders united by a common goal: unlocking sustainable finance for smallholder farmers and agri-food SMEs.

From the insights shared, one thing stood out, solving Nigeria’s agricultural challenges will take more than good intentions. It calls for real collaboration, scalable models, and action at both grassroots and institutional levels. As active participants, we reaffirmed our commitment to building inclusive, climate-resilient systems that empower farmers, strengthen agribusinesses, and drive food security.

This wasn’t just another event. It was a reminder of the urgent need for collective effort, and a call to keep pushing for an agri-finance ecosystem that truly works for everyone.
